Cayuga County Cancer Services Program
Cayuga County Dept. of Health & Human Services, SERVICES: All services are provided free of charge to eligible individuals. Breast and cervical cancer screening services include: instruction regarding breast self-examination, clinical breast examinations, mammograms, and pelvic examinations with pap smears. Eligible women must be: (1) age 40 or older (2) medically uninsured or underinsured (i.e. have a prohibitive deductible, or limited coverage), and (3) meet income guidelines. Colorectal services include: instruction regarding risk factors and screening procedures, annual testing for colorectal cancer via FIT kits and follow-up examinations (ex. Colonoscopies). Eligible men & women must be: (1) age 50 or older OR younger than age 50, with family history of polyps or colorectal cancer, (2) medically uninsured or underinsured (i.e. have a prohibitive deductible, or limited coverage), and (3) meet income guidelines. Prostate health education; Free screening clinics conducted quarterly around the county; Educational presentations available to service clubs, churches, and other community organizations. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY: Coalition/Advisory Board member HOURS: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm; July & August, 8:00am - 4:00pm. |
