MaryEllen Perry - Executive Director

Mission: To provide recreational opportunities to children with disabilities.

Services:
Freedom Camp: An integrated summer day camping experience for children with disabilities. Two week sessions during the summer. Freedom Camp is held at the Casey Park Recreational Facility on N. Division St. in Auburn. Camp is open to children with developmental and other defined and documented disabilities.

Freedom Riders: An eight-week program divided into two four-week sessions. Classes are held at Skaneateles Equestrian Center on Franklin Street Road. Students are taught all aspects of horsemanship from care and feeding, etiquette in the ring and much more.

Sibshops: This group was formed to allow the non-disabled siblings to interact with other children who also have a special needs sibling. It is a peer support group that meets every other month. The participants become aware that they are not the only ones with a special needs sibling, and that they share many of the same frustrations and concerns as the other participants.

Volunteer Opportunities: All above mentioned activities are in need of volunteers. Please contact MaryEllen McPerry at 253-5465.

Hours: Mon.- Fri. 1 p.m. - 5 p.m.

Support: United Way of Cayuga County, Division for Youth, Office of Mental Retardation & Developmental Disabilities (OMRDD) and private contributions.
