About The Human Services Coalition
The Human Services Coalition is comprised of consumers, professionals and citizens of Cayuga County.
Under the umbrella of the Coalition are six task groups. They include:
1. Children and Families Task Group
2. Adult and Community Task Group
3. Elderly and Disabled Task Group
4. Media Services Task Group
5. Needs Assessments Task Group
The task groups meet regularly and are comprised of various members interested in various topics. Each task group has defined short term and long term goals, and have operationalized steps toward meeting their objectives.
The Coordinating Council is comprised of 15 board of directors and task group chairs. Its monthly meetings are always open to the community.
There is ongoing discussion concerning strategies for implementing improved systems of communication between service providers and identification of barriers to the stated mission and coalition goals.
The Human Services Coalition is funded through a Community Development Block grant via the City of Auburn, Office of Planning and Economic Development; United Way of Cayuga County; membership fees, contract fees and grants.
